A Heartfelt Thank You!

Updated: Oct 21, 2021

The Stockbridge Area Chamber of Commerce wishes to thank everyone that came out for this year’s A Day in the Village event Father’s Day weekend June 18th and 19th. Whereas we would have liked to have had the weather that was predicted on Monday of that week – the couple of hundred people that did show up were very enthusiastic!

There were so many that helped out with this event – if I forgot to include you, please understand it is not intentional.

A big shout out to the Stockbridge Downtown Development Authority and Enbridge without whose generous donations we would not have had this event! Without hesitation they stepped up and got the ball rolling, you guys are the best!

The Village of Stockbridge was extremely helpful from Dave getting up the signs, Chief Johnnie keeping everything and everyone safe, Debi with fantastic ideas and guidance, and Molly with her un-wavering support and guidance when it seemed too stressful for just two people to pull off!

Stockbridge Township, thankyou for letting us use the Town Hall for the Michigan Lego User Group and Town Square for our vendors and for making sure all of the paperwork was properly filled out.

My Body Shop, Kalamink Wind, CTS-Tax, Eaton Federal and Gordie’s Power Equipment all opened their wallets to contribute to this event with cash donations. Kalamink Wind also contributed the Lego Build Your Home Contest prize and Jiffy Mix contributed the product and prizes for our Jiffy Iron Chef Contest. We have a very talented and creative group of young people in the Stockbridge Area.

A very special thank you to our anonymous donor of 4 kid’s bikes! Talk about generosity, when you do something just to see a child have fun and want no recognition for your good deeds, you are very special. Thank you.

Mike Klimkiewicz thank you for all of your work on the Golf Outing – it was a beautiful day and a lot of fun! There were several sponsors that supported our Golf Outing: Susan Pidd Realty, My Body Shop, Kona Ice, CTS-Tax, Kaze Companies, Certified Tractor and Auto Repair, Rod Munsell Collision, Unadilla Party Store, Tabs Custom Cuts, Gordie’s Power Equipment, Heets Custom Cycles, Gregory Pub, Kitley Custom Exhaust, and Positively Chiropractic. It isn’t easy for a business to find a way to give back to the community that supports them, especially after this past year, but when we came knocking – they answered. It was a fantastic outing and I hope more folks will be able to join us next year!

To the bands that continued to play even with threatening weather and high levels of moisture on the ground – you were fantastic! The vendors that stuck it out setting up in the rain on Friday, huddling under canopies on Saturday morning – next year if it rains there will be hot drinks! You guys were the awesome, helping each other setting up and anchoring tents, walking around talking with each other to pass the time when the shoppers waited out the rain, just a fantastic group.

Jack Marshall and his team of Fireworks Shooters – you make it great every year!

Susan Pidd thank you for stepping up at the last minute to make the Treasure Hunt a success. It is always a wonderful feeling when you have folks like you that can be counted on with such short notice!

Bramlett Hardware thank you for donating all of the materials for the Marshmallow Shooters! WOW! Everyone that got one of these had a blast! It is always a good event when parents are shooting marshmallows at their kids and getting pelted back!

Theresa Kightlinger – thank you for your constant support these past few months and during the event. I have no idea where it would have ended up if you weren’t running around all over town getting donations for the Father of the Year gift basket, donations for the kid’s games that got rained out, for all of your creative problem solving, you made it happen!

Thank you, Stockbridge Area Community, – when you came out for the fireworks, to shop at the vendor tents or just to get out and walk around, it is for you that we did this. The Chamber hopes you enjoyed it!

If you want to get involved to make it better next year, sign up for our first meeting on August 16 at 5:30 at the Chamber Office, by calling 419-960-5459 and leaving your name and phone number or send an email to Stockbridgeareachamber@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you there!

With Gratitude,

Cherie Van Blaircum
